Day 2 of the 2013 Outdoor Education Trip

Breakfast Hoppers: They also had to clean the table after the meal. Breakfast Hoppers: Breakfast Hoppers: Chris, a Happy Hollow employee, gives the hoppers directions on how to be a table hopper. Bubbles:Mrs. Shireman talks with the campers about surface tension. Bubbles: The campers then had the opportunity to blow bubbles. Bubbles: Bubbles: Bubbles:The campers also tried blowing a bubble and seeing how many times they can bounce it wearing a glove on their hand. Bubbles: Bubbles: Katie R. points at a bubble she blew. Bubbles: Bubbles: Air Pressure: Mr. Allen talks to the campers about how clouds form. Air Pressure: He shows them an experiment that they will do to create a cloud. Air Pressure:Thr groups use a hand pump to pump air into a bottle with a small amount of water in it. Air Pressure: Air Pressure: Air Pressure: When the air pressure is released from the bottle a cloud will form. Birthday: Today is Mr. Freed's Birthday. Birthday: Happy Birthday, Mr. Freed! Josh enjoys getting to canoe with his dad. Microscopes: Caitlyn talked about the different types of microscopic organisms that the campers might see as they look through the microscope. Microscopes: Some campers saw Spirogyra. Microscopes: Brandon helps the campers with a question. Microscopes: Microscopes: Microscopes: Microscopes: Minerals: Mrs.Pinnick is showing examples of different types of minerals as Brandon photo bombs her. Minerals: Mrs. Gutknecht helps the campers as they try to identify some minerals. Minerals: Mrs. Pinnick suggests that they try to identify the mineral first by its color. Minerals: Minerals: Minerals: Hydrochloric acid can be added to a mineral to determine the type of mineral. Zip Line: This is a view of the zip line from the mineral station. Zip Line: Alex D. stops short and has to pull herself up to the start. Zip Line: Jenna M. takes her turn on the zip line after Mr. Walker tried to play a joke on her. Zip Line: Mr. Walker tried to scare Whittney by having another camper hide in the helmet container and pop out when she opened the lid. Zip Line: Robby K. grabs for the rope so he can pull him self closer to the start. Zip Line: Aaron S. does a great job zipping across on the zip line. Testing with the Ren Responders: After all of the stations were completed the students took at test to see how much they learned on the trip.  Testing with the Ren Responders: The test questions are typed into a database on a laptop. A receiver on the laptop sends a wireless signal to the Responders. Campfire Skit: The campers really enjoyed the skit. Campfire Skit: Campfire Skit: Mr. Allen enjoyed the song as well. Campfire Skit: Chris tells the campers that he is going to see how smart Brianne and Austin are. Campfire Skit: Austin has a sleeping bag over his head. Campfire Skit: Chris tells him that he has something on that he does not need. Campfire Skit: He still hadn't figured out what he needed to take off. Campfire Skit: Nope...still not sure. Campfire Skit: Mr. Davis was told he was to act like he was riding a motorcycle, but little did he know that the kids were told this was how he uses the toliet.
