Health Services: Immunizations Indiana law requires that all children newly enrolled in Kindergarten or Grade 1 and less that 7 years of age be immunized against DIPTHERIA, PERTUSSIS, TETANUS, POLIO, MEASLES, MUMPS, RUBELLA, HEPATITIS B AND VARICELLA (Chickenpox). Parental history of chickenpox disease is acceptable in a written note as proof of immunity (no vaccine needed). No child will be permitted to attend school unless he or she is fully immunized or can show evidence that immunizations are in progress. If immunizations are in progress, a schedule for completion of immunizations must be sent to the school health office. Minimum Immunization
Requirements: Consult with your child’s physician regarding your child’s immunization schedule. Immunizations are given without charge at the Harrison County Health Department at 738-3237. A tuberculin test and HIB vaccine are recommended. Please ask your child’s physician about the need for these.
