BOOKPLATE CONTEST
                  Winner - Jacob  

2009-2010

 
Current Winner until May 28, 2010

A copy of the winning bookplate is placed in each new book purchased that school year.  Also, Jacob was awarded a fifty dollar savings bond donated by Community First Bank.
RULES

1.  Use the correct size and kind of paper:    4 1/4"  X 5 1/2"  white
              construction paper

2.  Use 1 - 3 dark colors on white paper.  No more than 3 colors!   (RULE CHANGE!)

3.  Finished picture must be done in skinny point marker.  No crayon, ink, paint, pencil, etc.

4.  Have a border around your bookplate.   Use a  ruler.

5.  Bookplate must contain:
     Your name  (last name spelled out)
     (The last name on the pix at left is 
           obscured for the internet)
     Correct sch. year  (2010 - 2011)  
       (next year)

6.  Deadline: Thur., May 6, 2010.

TIPS

1.  Don't draw teeny-tiny pictures or have too much stuff in 
       your drawing. 

2.  Sketch you drawing lightly in pencil.  Then go over it in
      marker after corrections.

3.  Use your imagination for clever borders.

4.  Simple drawings usually reproduce better than busy pictures.

5.  You can get lots of help with ideas, but do the final entry
     yourself.

6.  PRACTICE ON SCRATCH PAPER SEVERAL TIMES 
     BEFORE USING YOUR OFFICIAL ENTRY 
     CONSTRUCTION PAPER!  (Available in the library)
