NH Update from Dr. Richards - May 14, 2021

Parents, Guardians, Students, and Staff:

I hope this email finds you well.  Just a few updates for everyone.

There was some news yesterday from the CDC regarding masks. As of now this most recent guidance from the CDC does not pertain to schools.  Should further guidance come from the state, we will pass that along.  With the recent expansion of vaccines to 12 and older, we certainly should be getting closer to normal as we move forward.  The current guidance from the state is that schools remain with masks for the remainder of the current school year.  That is technically June 30.  The Harrison County Health Department is scheduling vaccinations for those 12 and over at this time.  The shot clinic has moved back to the health department offices.  Harrison County Health Department Covid testing remains at the Rhoads pool location.

We are planning for a return to full in-person instruction in the fall.  We know the value of in-person instruction and believe that in-person instruction is best for all students.  We are looking forward to the return of ALL students for in-person instruction.  The key words are "in-person" in case you did not pick up on that!

Information from Dr. Richards - April 26, 2021

Parents, Guardians, Students and Staff:

I hope that this email finds you well and your family healthy.  It seems strange to think that we have under 20 days left in this school year.

I would like to start with a "Thank You."   I am so proud of the efforts of our entire school community to keep our kids and staff safe and in school.  As we see other states struggle with returning to in-person instruction, it makes your collective efforts even more impressive.   So thank you for going above and beyond to help us make this school year the best we could for every student.  We look forward to next year as it is our plan to return to full in-person instruction for all of our students.

We are offering summer school this year with transportation.  Notes and notifications have been sent at the building level.  If this is something from which you feel your child would benefit, please reach out to your building principal.

The May school board meeting is moving up one day to Wednesday, May 12.  It will be in the middle school cafeteria starting at 7:00p.m.  We will also have a link on our homepage if you wish to join us virtually.
