Important School Community News From Dr. Richards - February 19

School Community Members:

As many of you are aware, our school community suffered a tremendous loss with the recent passing of Veronica Sieg-Battista.  Veronica had served on our school board for over ten years.  For all but one month of that time she was our board president.  Veronica was passionate about our students, staff, and schools.  With her passing, per statute, our remaining board members are tasked with selecting a replacement for her. The timeline is rather tight as the process must be completed within 30 days. That person would serve for the remaining two years of her term.  Indiana Code states that this individual must be a registered voter and have lived in the district at least one year.  This position is the "At-Large" member so anyone in our district can be considered.

Free Tutoring from Retired Teachers

Free Tutoring Information:

Indiana’s Call and Learn free tutoring service for K-12 students is once again being offered by retired teachers, courtesy of the Indiana Retired Teachers Association.

The service begins Tuesday, and no internet is needed. Retired teachers will assist Indiana's K-12 students with language arts, math, science, and social studies.

Students can call 1-877-45-STUDY toll-free [1-877-457-8839], 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesdays through Thursdays.

All calls are anonymous and recorded; student privacy is guaranteed and no student data is gathered.

There is no limit to how long calls last or the number of times a person can call.
