Mr. Kellems and Mr. Shiner received a Samtec Cares grant that will be used to help purchase equipment for the STEAM Lab at North Harrison High School.
This transformative initiative seeks to establish a state-of-the-art STEAM laboratory that will play a pivotal role in advancing education and innovation not only in the traditional STEM fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math, but also incorporating Art into the equation as well.
We are extremely thankful to be partnering with Samtec in order to bring STEM equipment to North Harrison High School.

The NH Band Car Show is coming up quickly! August 19th!!
Registration for cars starts at 8:00 and is $25.
The 1st 50 cars get a t-shirt and dash plaque.
Concessions are available and spectators are free.
The marching will perform their 2023 show "From the Ashes" at 1:00.

Indiana State Representative Karen Engleman presented our State Champions with with House Resolution 41 recognizing them for their success this season at the State Building in Indianapolis.
Miss Kelly Book presented in an online PD during Covid for IUS, and the article was finally accepted for publication! Her name along with North Harrison High School is listed in there a couple of times (page 1 and page 10). The professors at IUS wrote this, and they included the three teacher presenters in the process and listed them as co-authors. Miss Book presented over ArcGIS and ESRI, which is mentioned in the journal on page 5 second paragraph. Congratulations Miss Book! This is an awesome achievement! Graduation takes place in the NHHS gym starting at 1:00 PM.
The Class of 2023 practiced for their graduation ceremony this morning. We would love to have a crowd to celebrate the accomplishments of the seniors on Sunday, May 21 at 1:00 pm. 🎓👩🎓👨🎓💙
Monday, the science department handed out the top science awards to seniors. There are three awards given at the end of each school year. The top senior in physical and biological science awards have been a tradition since 1988, and the top laboratory science award has been a new tradition since 2019. The top three students are chosen by all the teachers in the science department, and their names will be added to the NHHS Senior Science Wall of Fame. Also recognized on Monday was a senior who has competed on the Academic Superbowl Team for all four years of high school.
Jeremy Satterfield received the top physical science award. Jeremy is attending Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and majoring in chemical engineering.
Alyssa Spurlock received the top biological science award. Alyssa is attending Indiana University Southeast and majoring in nursing.
Harrison Uhl received the top laboratory science award. Harrison is attending Purdue University and majoring in biology.
Lastly, Olivia Abner was recognized for four years of dedicated team work on the Academic Superbowl Team. Olivia is the only graduating senior on the team who has been participating on the team for her entire high school career. Olivia is attending the University of Alabama and is majoring in business and international studies.
Congratulations to these students, and best of luck to them in all of their future endeavours!
Principles of Ag students in Mrs. Sauerheber’s classes are finishing up the Equine Industry unit. Today we drew out pictures of light horses to size (14-17 hands) and labeled the external parts of the animal.
