It has turned out to be an absolutely beautiful evening! Recess has never looked so good!

Gaga Ball at Recess! The campers are "gaga" for it! 🤣

Some pictures from the Obstacle Course!

Just a few of the MANY fish that were caught at the lake today!

Some sprinkles didn't stop the campers from enjoying a canoe ride this afternoon!

Bubble-ology! The campers learned about surface tension by experimenting with different types of bubbles.

The campers learn about the food chain in the Owl Pellet station. They got to dissect an owl pellet to see what the owl had eaten. Most of the campers found rodent and shrew bones.

All About Air at camp! Mr. Allen taught students about air pressure using many different resources!

For the Potential and Kinetic Energy station the campers had to find the velocity of a ball (simulating a roller coaster car) that is dropped from three different heights. The campers were required to really problem solve to complete their questions.

Another new station added for camp is called this year is Dendrology, which is the study of trees. Jack Grace taught the campers about the different types of trees and leaves in our area. He took them on a hike ti help them learn to identity the trees and leave.

Due to the light rain this morning, the Archery station was moved inside a barn.

The Zap Line! Campers that wanted to zap line across a gully were able to. Once they had their harness and helmet on they were ready to fly!

More morning pictures from Happy Hollow. We have a little light rain this morning, but it hasn't slowed the campers down!

Good morning from Happy Hollow!

After the campfire skits, the campers got to make S'mores and/or get homemade ice cream sandwiches before showering and going to the cabins.

Campfire 🔥! Mr. Schmidt tossed a piece of wood he collected from last years campfire. He tells the campers that they are now bound together with all other groups that have come to Happy Hollow! Chris Chappell, Happy Hollow's Camp Director, did some fun skits and songs with the campers!

Our first dinner in the dining hall this evening was chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, hot rolls, and salad!

One of our new stations this year is Archery. Huge thanks to Mrs. Ashley First for bringing archery gear and running the station!

The campers were allowed to touch a Bull Snake that Jim was holding after the presentation was over.

Additional snake presentation photos with DNR Jim Lynch.
