NH Band wants to invite you all to attend the 31st Annual NH Band Car Show next Saturday, August 16th. This awesome event is held in front of the middle school on the bus parking lot (aka the band practice field).

8:00am Car registration opens ($25 per car)
9:00am Spectators welcome (come for free!), vendor booths open
12:00pm Car entries for judging closes
1:00pm Band performs in standstill
2:00pm Silent auction closes
3:00pm Car show trophies announced
4:00pm Day ends

We will have a DJ, concessions, vendor booths, silent auction (with a lot of amazing items including gift cards, tickets for the Louisville Bats, Holiday World and more, and several really nice items as well), yard games, sidewalk chalk for the kids, and posters to make spirit signs for the marching band to hang up in the band room to cheer them on this fall.

Parking: NHHS main entrance, by the fieldhouse, or in the "Prosser" lot in front of the 7th/8th grade wing of the middle school.

Today is the last day of school! We will have an early release day, as we do every Friday. High School graduation is tonight at 7:00 P.M. Have a great summer!!!

Congratulations to this years NHMS Triple "A" Award winners Ava Fessel and Lucas Wetzel. These 8th grade students were chosen as they excelled in three categories: Academics, Athletics, and Attitude. 👏💙

NHMS Student Council members brainstormed fundraising ideas, and supporting the military was a popular suggestion. Mrs. Carrie Johnson, from NHHS, connected them with Sean Davis, who suggested partnering with One Community and their Eagle Court project in Corydon. This project builds free duplexes for displaced or homeless Veterans. Sean mentioned that furnishing each unit costs $4500, so the student council made that their fundraising goal. To raise money, the student council organized a Pie-in-the-Face event, a Hat Day, and the NHMS Winter Dance. Thanks to the hard work and dedication of the Student Council and the generosity of our students and staff the Student Council successfully raised $4500 and presented a check to Eagle Court to fully furnish one duplex.

We are sorry to inform you that due to storm damage at Happy Hollow, we have to cancel our 6th grade outdoor education camping trip. They have no power and a lot of limbs down with additional debris. They said there is no way they can recover this week where we could attend. We plan to issue refunds. Be patient as we work through the process to issue those refunds. We do plan to reschedule the camp for next fall, so our students will still get to experience camp! We are working to come up with some type of activity for them this week, so they can end the year with a fun event with their classmates. If you have already dropped off luggage for the camping trip, we will be available on Monday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm to pick up luggage. If you need a time outside of school hours for any other day, please call the school and we will make arrangements. Stay tuned. Due to the impending weather forecast, all after school activities, including the after school program, will be over at 5:00 this afternoon. Morgan students on the field trip to Conner Prairie will also arrive back to Morgan at 5:00 instead of 6:00.

You will be called to the library. 8th Grade Chromebook and Charger Collection: Thursday, May 22 8:15 Any student that was a car rider this morning, go to the library turn in your Chromebook and charger. 8:25 If you are the first round of buses in the North Harrison area, it is time for you to go to the library to turn in your Chromebook and charger. 8:35 If you are in the 2nd round of buses coming from Morgan Elementary, you need to go to the library to turn in your Chromebook and charger at this time. 7th Grade Chromebook and Charger Collection: Thursday, May 22 You will be called to the library after 8th grade collection is completed.

NHMS PTO wrapped up staff appreciation week last week! Thank you to Elvin’s Pastry for the donation of the delicious cake, Sara Waiz for the Alani to keep the staff energized, and Dunkin' Donuts for the donuts. We always appreciate help from our community when celebrating our teachers and/or students!

Mrs. Thompson’s class had the best day at Holiday World!!

Today Mrs. Thompson's class explored the inside of frogs! 🐸 Everyone enjoyed learning about and identifying frog body parts!
