First thing in the morning prior to the Buffalo Trace Renaissance Trip. You will be called to the library.
8th Grade Chromebook and Charger Collection:
Thursday, May 22
8:15 Any student that was a car rider this morning, go to the library turn in your Chromebook and charger.
8:25 If you are the first round of buses in the North Harrison area, it is time for you to go to the library to turn in your Chromebook and charger.
8:35 If you are in the 2nd round of buses coming from Morgan Elementary, you need to go to the library to turn in your Chromebook and charger at this time.
7th Grade Chromebook and Charger Collection:

NHMS PTO wrapped up staff appreciation week last week! Thank you to Elvin’s Pastry for the donation of the delicious cake, Sara Waiz for the Alani to keep the staff energized, and Dunkin' Donuts for the donuts. We always appreciate help from our community when celebrating our teachers and/or students!

Today Mrs. Thompson's class explored the inside of frogs! 🐸 Everyone enjoyed learning about and identifying frog body parts!

North Harrison Community Schools are looking to hire a full time and part time custodian. The full time custodian will work the night shift when school is in session and then work the day shift when school is on break. The part time position is for for a night custodian.

Mrs. Thompson’s class participated in the Clean Earth Challenge by picking up trash around the school. Happy Earth Day! 🌎
The week before Spring Break, Mrs. Wade's students dove into the exciting world of March Mammal Madness, a nationwide program created by Arizona State University. Inspired by the NCAA’s March Madness, MMM swaps basketball teams for epic showdowns between animals, plants, and even fungi—using real scientific research to determine the outcome of each “battle.”
Nearly a million students across the country participated this year, and my students were all in! They researched the competitors, filled out their brackets, and followed along with the daily recaps of each round.
In every class, the bracket champion earned a certificate redeemable for either extra credit or a homework pass. And in 8th grade, the top scorer was awarded the ultimate prize: the coveted MMM trophy—customized in the color of their choice.

Coach Johnson has announced the NHMS 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th Grade Cheerleaders for the 2025-26 school year.
In preparation for Earth Day next week Mrs. Thompson's class is learning about the Clean Earth Challenge. Yesterday, they made Earth cookies!! They loved mixing the color into the dough and creating Earth cookies.
Congratulations to these students for being the top three readers in their grade level! They celebrated today with a party in the library with Mrs. Blackburn!
