On the night of the first campfire, Mr. Schmidt tells the campers about how he pulls a piece of charred wood from the previous years campfire and takes it back to NH. That piece of wood is brought back to camp the next year. He invites some campers down to take the charred wood from the bag. Before they toss it in the fire he tells the campers that this has been done for the past 30 years and they are now tied to all of the previous groups of campers.
Mr. Schmidt also recognized the senior girls who volunteered to come to camp as high school staff. This group of young ladies did not get to come to Happy Hollow as 6th graders as COVID cancelled the trip. We are so happy that they were able to come this year and experience the fun.
Mr. Allen carved two watermelon to have on our campfire stage. We call them "Waterlanterns" because they are so cool!
