Day 1 - Campfire! Mr. Schmidt always pulls some of the charred firewood from the previous years campfire and takes it back to NHMS. The next year when it is time to load for camp, he brings it back to the campfire and throws it in. This bonds all of the years of campers together as he has done this since our first trip to Happy Hollow in 1997. The charred wood was from the May 2024 campfire as we were not able to be here last year due to storm damage. This year he had three of the 7th graders toss the charred wood into the fire.
Mr. Allen carved the pumpkins that sat on the stage at the campfire area. They are awesome!
